Job Description

We are looking for a Logistics & Customs Clearance Agent who will handle import shipments, deal with customs authorities, and ensure all documentation and legal requirements are fulfilled for smooth customs clearance. The candidate will manage import licenses, coordinate with shipping lines, agents, and transporters, and make sure goods are cleared and delivered on time. 

Responsibilities

    • Handle customs clearance procedures for import shipments (air, sea, or land). 
    • Prepare, check, and submit all customs documents (invoices, packing lists, BL/AWB, HS codes, import licenses, etc.). 
    • Ensure all customs requirements and regulations are met for each shipment. 
    • Apply for and manage import licenses/permissions where needed. 
    • Coordinate with customs authorities, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transport companies. 
    • Track and follow up on shipments to ensure timely customs clearance and delivery. 
    • Calculate and verify duties, taxes, and other charges as per customs rules. 
    • Resolve issues related to customs holds, queries, inspections, or documentation problems. 
    • Maintain accurate records of all shipments, customs documents, and clearance status. 
    • Communicate with clients/customers regarding shipment status, documentation requirements, and delivery timelines. 
    • Ensure compliance with all import/export regulations, company policies, and government laws. 

Requirements

  • Experience as a Customs Clearance Agent / Logistics Coordinator / Import Officer, or similar role. 
  • Good knowledge of customs laws, import procedures, and documentation. 
  • Understanding of HS codes, duty/tax calculation, and valuation. 
  • Experience dealing with customs officials and government departments. 
  • Familiarity with shipping documents (Bill of Lading, Air Waybill, commercial invoice, packing list, etc.). 
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines at the same time. 
  • Strong communication and coordination skills. 
  • Good problem-solving skills to handle customs or shipment issues. 
  • Basic computer skills (email, MS Excel, document handling).
